I have called St. Tammany home for nearly twenty-five years.
It’s where I married my wife. It’s where I raised my family. And it’s where I want to make a difference right now.
Every day, more than 700 deputies in St. Tammany Parish go to work to serve and protect the people of this great parish. Those men and women deserve to wear a badge free of tarnish from politicians elected to lead them.
We need leaders who live up to and exceed the high expectations of our community.
We will restore accountability to the Sheriff’s Office. We will preserve law and order in every neighborhood and on every street in this parish. And we will ensure that St. Tammany can proudly say that we have the very best Sheriff's Office in the State of Louisiana!
Hodges's Accomplishments
- 31-year law enforcement veteran and former Superintendent of the Louisiana State Police
- Oversaw 2,800 employees and more than 1,000 sworn troopers • Managed a budget of $650,000,000, with integrity and complete transparency
- Stood up Troop NOLA, a State Police base of operations in New Orleans that resulted in a dramatic reduction in violent crime and a marked increase in arrests and convictions
- Forged partnerships with local, state, and federal leaders to fight terrorism, strengthen school safety, and secure our streets
Meet Robert Hodges
Before moving to St. Tammany nearly a quarter-century ago, Robert Hodges graduated from LSU with a degree in Criminal Justice. Following graduation, Hodges served as an Intelligence Officer in the Louisiana Army National Guard. In 1995, Hodges began a 31-year career with the Louisiana State Police, ultimately being appointed by Gov. Jeff Landry to serve as the agency’s superintendent.
Hodges and his wife, Janine, were married in 1998. Soon after, they established themselves in St. Tammany Parish, where they raised two daughters. The family chose St. Tammany specifically for safety, strong schools, and strong churches. Both daughters attended Mary Queen of Peace School in Mandeville and later St. Scholastica Academy (SSA) in Covington.
